Aris Cell
Agricultural Research Information System(ARIS): Agricultural
Research Information System known as ARIS Cell in the college is
equipped with the latest computers and software packages. The basic
function of the ARIS Cell is to improve learning among students,
teaching efficiency and research capability among faculty members in
order to support research activities.
ARIS cell has established a
full fledged Local Area Network connecting the various departments of
the college. The ARIS Cell also has the high speed optical cable
broadband internet connectivity for effective communication with 20
systems. Internet connection for browsing is available for students and
staff from 9 AM to 5 PM on all working days. ARIS Cell maintains the
comprehensive network security management in the institute by installing
multi functional firewall software making protection and filtering easy
and affordable. Hostels are given round the clock internet
connectivity.
Instructional farm
The instructional farm
attached to the college has a total area of 27.231 ha out of which 18.86
ha is cultivated area. The cropping pattern is coconut intercropped
with vegetables, banana, tapioca and minor fruits. It has mother plant
nurseries for mango,Cashew and minor fruit plants. The TxD palms in the
farm is one of the oldest plantings and date back to 1945. The major
activity of the farm is the production of quality planting materials of
fruit and vegetable crops. For this it has a very good infrastructure of
polyhouses, green houses, hardening chamber, potting sheds , budding
/grafting sheds and quality control laboratories. A mushroom spawn
production unit and a vermicomposting unit is also functional in the
farm. The farm also has a hardening unit for tissue culture plantlets
produced by the Department of biotechnology in the campus.
For the work experience
programme in paddy, 100 cents of private land on lease, adjacent to
Theerthankara pond is being made use of from April 2013 onwards. The
students get ample opportunities for familiarization of various crops
being grown in the adjoining institutions at RARS Pilicode, Karuvachery,
PRS Panniyoor, KVK Panniyoor, CPCRI Kasaragod and District Agricultural
Farm Taliparamba.
Hostel
The college provides excellent hostel
facilities for students. Men’s hostel and Women’s hostels are located in
the campus itself so that there is easy access in between. The hostel
facilities are of high quality and well equipped.
The hostel system runs under the control
of chief warden Dr. M Govindan, Associate Dean, Assistant Wardens of
the respective hostels and resident tutors. Both the hostels have mess
facilities for students.

A Garden club is functioning in the
college. A Kitchen garden is also maintained by the inmates of the
Hostel. Hostel Mess is run by students on contract basis.
